A motivational theory which was develops by a humanist physiologist who was Abraham Maslow in the 1943s. This theory is known as the hierarchy of needs theory. This theory is state about five different levels of basic needs in human life. This theory can help people to manage their life better by knowing the five basic needs of their life. This five levels are drawing in a pyramid model because each of them are related each other. In the first level is physiological needs, security need in the second level, love and belonging need in the third level, esteem needs in the fourth level, and the Self Actualization Needs in the fifth level. The Self Actualization Needs are the most important and the last basic need in human life, and that is why the Self Actualization Needs are put in the top of the pyramid. Now we are going to discussed about the last level of the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory which is Self Actualization Needs.
The Self Actualization Needs will appear if all of the fourth previous level of human needs has been fulfil or satisfied well. The Self Actualization Needs is the way people need to understand what is their full potential is and realizing that potential. The Self Actualization Needs is not like the other levels that can be fully satisfied, The Self Actualization Needs is never fully satisfied, because as a human, one grows psychologically then there are always new opportunities that always grow continually.
The Self Actualization Needs is also including several aspects like other basic needs levels such as truth, justice, wisdom and meaning. The Self actualized persons will have lots of chance to reach peak experiences, which are encouraging moments of happiness and harmony. According to Maslow’s theory there are only a small number of the people that can reach the level of self actualization.
